Boerie Balls Recipe (South African Meatballs)

1 lb ground beef (27% fat recommended)
1 lb ground pork (all beef may be used if pork is not available)
1 packet BiltongMate Boerie Balls spice mix (1 oz)
1.5 oz (44 ml) white vinegar (one shot glass full!)


1. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix thoroughly.
2. Roll into meatballs (about 1 oz each) and place on a baking rack in a baking tray.
3. Broil 4” below oven broiler for about 8 - 9 minutes, until the internal temperature of the meatballs reaches 160 °F and there is no more pink color inside them.

May be served on their own as an appetizer, paired with pap (polenta) and sheba (tomato relish) as traditional South African accompaniments, or substituted for the meatballs in your favorite dish!
