Sheba Recipe (South African Tomato Relish)

14 oz diced tomatoes (1 small can)
14 oz crushed tomatoes (1 small can)
2 sliced red onions
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tsp brown sugar
salt and pepper to taste

1. Heat the olive oil in a saucepan and add the onions. Cook on medium heat while stirring until the onions become translucent (about 5 minutes).
2. Add remaining ingredients and stir.
3. Cover saucepan with lid and simmer on low heat for an hour, stirring occasionally.

Garnish with chopped parsley.

Best served with pap (polenta) and  boerewors (farmer sausage) or boerie balls (meatballs)
